Place : From Port-Saïd to Suez.
Description : Suez Canal is a 85 mile (163 km) long canal which connects Port-Said, port Egyptian giving on the Mediterranean, and Suez which gives on the Red Sea. With the Suez Canal, it is now possible for the ships to go from Europe to Asia without having to sail round Africa by the Cape of Good Hope. Before its digging, the goods have to be transported by ground between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.

Description : Abusir is the name of this archaeological and Egyptian necropolis. There are 7 pyramids in this sector that were built during the 5th dynasty. The quality of these pyramids is worst compared with the 4th dynasty ; perhaps a sign of royal capacity decline. The three principal pyramids are Nyuserre Ini (the best preserved), Neferirkare and Sahure.

Bent pyramid - Monuments | Egypt -

Place : Dahshur.
Description : Located at the royal necropolis of Dahshur. The lower part of the pyramid has a 54 degrees slope, the higher section is 43 degrees, lending to the pyramid its "bent" aspect. This originality is due to its construction that show some signs of instability. The manufacturers revised their plan by reducing the slope, avoiding its collapse.

Description : The three large pyramids are the Khéops, Khéphren and Mykerynos ones. They were built in 2500 years before JC.
The Khéops one, the largest, has a 480 feet (146,6 m) height, Khéphren measures 450 feet (136,5m) and Mykerynos 350 feet (106,5m) height.

The Giza Sphinx - Monuments | Egypt -

Description : The Guizèh Sphinx is drawn up in front of the pyramids, semi-man and semi-lion.
The Guizèh Sphinx is 240 feet (73m) long, 46 feet (14m) broad and 65 feet (20m) height.
It was carved in the stone during the Kheops reign and the head was perhaps carved another time to give him the face of the Khephren Pharaon. This face measures is 5 meters. It was to protect the entry from the necropolis of the plunderers and was carved in only one block of stone. Its body of lion represents the force and the part man represents the courage with the wisdom of the Pharaon Khephren. The cobra on the top of its head was supposed to throw flames on whoever would dare to penetrate the places.
